Four miles away from Church Stretton, Acton Scott is a historic working farm. See how life would have been like on a farm at the turn of the 20th Century. You can watch craftspeople at work throughout the seasons - from rearing rare and traditional stock, including Shire horses, to milling corn and baking bread, ploughing fields and steam threshing.
Victoria House guests are entitled to a discounted admittance.

Longmynd, Caradoc, Lawley, Ragleth, Helmeth, to name a few. From your accommodation at Victoria House, you can walk through St Lawrence's churchyard and tinto Rectory Field. Keep walking upwards and within 15 minutes you'll be on the Longmynd - acres and acres of beautiful countryside to walk, cycle or ride in during your stay. We are within an area of outstanding natural beauty with much of the area managed by the National Trust. Visit Cardingmill Valley, run by the National Trust, and also lesser known valleys such as Batch, Gog and Ashes. You can join walking parties or venture off on your own. There are plenty of maps and published routes to choose from.

Church Stretton is now a Walkers Welcome town and Victoria House has been awarded the Visit Britain Walkers and Cyclists welcome award.

Victoria House is situated in High Street, right in the centre of Church Stretton. The town is small and friendly, with lots of individual privately-run shops, cafes and pubs or visit the huge antiques centre and art gallery.

We have great train and local bus services and during the summer months the shuttle bus will take you to surrounding villages and places of interest, including the Longmynd and Stiperstones. We also have local taxi firms.
Golfing, horse riding, fishing, cycling, gliding and, of course, walking can all be arranged from Victoria House.
