Long Mynd
The area includes part of the great ridge, the Long Mynd, with stunning views across the Shropshire and Cheshire plains and Black Mountains. This is excellent walking country with much of interest to the naturalist; the Chalet Pavilion in Carding Mill Valley offers information about the area, as well as a tea-room and shop.

Things To Do In Church Stretton
Church Stretton has as many walks and cycle routes available as there are days of the year (that is no exaggeration). Church Stretton and Shropshire are richly blessed by the world famous Longmynd Hill range. The Longmynd Hill range boasts over 100 walks and off and on road cycle routes to suit all fitness levels.

Golf

Church Stretton has it's own golf club, which sits on the top of the Longmynd overlooking Cardingmill Valley and High Park. Church Stretton golf club is the 2nd highest siuated golf course in England.

Shopping

The Shopping experience in Church Stretton is in a relaxing environment and varied. Church Stretton is a historic market town and holds a market weekly on a Thursday and a farmers market every other Friday.

Eating Out

The Victoria House Bed and Breakfast is in the very heart of Church Stretton town. We are less than 5 mins walk from many restaurants and cafe's. Not to forget of course Victoria House's own Tearooms. Church Stretton has a varied eating out experience from chip shops and Chinese takeaway's to avantegarde restaurants. Good pub grub can also be found within walking distance and also within one mile at either Little Stretton or All Stretton.

What Else?

Church Stretton would make an excellent base for other trips around Shropshire. If you drive 20 mins south, you will find one of Shropshire's most famous towns, the historic town of Ludlow. If you drive 20 mins north there is the historic town of Shrewsbury, birthplace of the famous Charles Darwin. Then if you wished, a few miles further would bring you to the world heritage site of Ironbridge. Church Stretton is the ultimate base to visit all of Shropshire and it's many attractions.
